I have this update installed on my PC. I want to uninstall as it is blocking Autodesk 3DS Max set up files. What are the consequences of uninstalling this update to other programs and which are the programs affected?

There is a chance that the AutoDesk 3DS Max will give launch errors. In this case, simply reinstall the redistributable file. There isn't a big impact over your applications just that they won't start normally. Reinstalling should fix it in case you encounter any of the errors.
The runtime environment is bugged, wrongly installed or, even worse, corrupted. In this case, please go to Control Panel and uninstall all the Visual C++ Runtimes. It's possible that you have too many versions installed. After you complete the process, please install Visual C++ Runtime 2008 and 2010. If the application refuses to work even if you have completed this procedure, the program is corrupted and it needs a fresh install or an update.
